House

My new home as seen from the street. Eventually, we will be able to fit the cars into the garage. Mommy says that won't be until after our yard sale. ;-) Entryway, as seen from living room. More trees. More hills, and grass. My new house from the bottom of the hill in our back yard - or, as daddy calls it, from out in the "wilderness." The office. Teehee. We've still got some work to do in there...

Johnson Space Center - Houston, TX

Here we are, on our way to Alabama - we stopped in Houston at the Johnson Space Center, where they have mission control for all of the big rocket ships they send to outer space. "Mission Contol, please get us the specially trained astronaut prodigy, Grant Vlaun on the line - we've got a problem up here." Baby brother especially loved the astronauts in their space suits.Grant and I even had the chance to drive one of the speed racers from Star Wars!! WHEEEEEEE! This is the slide that I found. It said I had to be 4 years or older to ride it, but I don't take those warnings too seriously, because I am a little daredevil. It was reeeeeally fun!!! Posing by the rocket boosters of the Saturn V. Each rocket cylinder could fit like 10,000 Grants, they're SOOOOO big!!! This space ship is HUGE, dude - 363 ft long and 6.5 million pounds!! Mommy says she's amazed they ever get off the ground. I must admit, I agree. Mommy, I think this one is about to launch!!! Wait, Grant! Your delaying the launch! Grant and Mommy, snuggling while we learn about the grove of trees planted - a tree for each astronaut lost for space exploration.

Baptism - Jun 21

This is our big day! Pastor Bailey is going to baptize Grant and me. Here I am, pious and angelic - ready for my baptism. But this whole water on the head thing...yeah, I'm not a major fan. By the looks of it, neither is Grant.

Misc June '09

The next Michael Phelps - taken in the Dyess TLF Grant's ready to go swimming. Mine are pink!! Pink is for Keira. Daddy, get your own pool. :-p Our little pilot...already flying at 22 months. Here I am, getting daddy with the elephant hose. AAAAAAAHHHHHHH! PAYBACKS STINK!!! Daddy's got mad ups. Grant and I love our hats! The Dyess Air Show with Miss Jenn. Mommy! This airplane has Tigger on it! This is my favorite! (Taken just before the grouchy owner of the plane harangued us up and down for touching the plane's tail)

Texas Rangers Game

This afternoon, after the Dallas Arboretum, mommy and daddy took us to see the Texas Rangers. Here we are, enjoying the game together. IT WAS SO MUCH FUN!! Grant and I got to yell as loud as we wanted! That NEVER happens! Here we are in front of the Texas Rangers Stadium. :)

Cheering on the Rangers with Daddy's help (sometimes we didn't know when to cheer or when to boo). Did I tell you about our diggs? Daddy's boss, "Boom", set it up so that daddy's office could have a private box at the Rangers game. We had our own food and an air conditioned box, with access to balcony seating on the third base line. WHAT A VIEW! This is the life! Peek-a-boo baby brother! He's kinda cute. Here I am in my new pretty pink Texas Rangers hat. And Grant got one too!!! We're special.

I had so much fun at the Arboretum that I fell asleep on the way to the Rangers game - even with my headphones on!!!

Dallas Arboretum & Botanical Gardens

This morning, mommy and daddy took us to the Dallas Arboretum & Botanical Gardens. They had so many interesting things to see!! There was a bamboo forest, real growing ginger, huge rosebushes taller than my head, giant orange fish, real tadpoles that mommy told me will turn into frogs someday, giant squirrels, birds, a lake with pretty white sailboats that remind me of Great Uncle Lev and Dabi, amphitheaters, fountains and ponds. They also had some really cool storybook houses along the path for Grant and me to play inside. We had so much fun exploring!!!

Peter Pan's Storybook House (aka Pirate Ship)

LOOK! We found Captain Hook's pirate ship!! Grant was dressed perfectly for the occasion. If you look closely, he's even saying "ARRRRR Matie!" in this picture. Checkin' it out together with my bro. Apparently, he's a natural at this...as one can tell by his choice of clothing...and his ability to steer the ship on his very first try. That being said, I was pretty successful myself. To be honest, I think he makes a better first mate. It's ok, little buddy, you can be the captain some other day...right now it's my turn.
