Misc June '09

The next Michael Phelps - taken in the Dyess TLF Grant's ready to go swimming. Mine are pink!! Pink is for Keira. Daddy, get your own pool. :-p Our little pilot...already flying at 22 months. Here I am, getting daddy with the elephant hose. AAAAAAAHHHHHHH! PAYBACKS STINK!!! Daddy's got mad ups. Grant and I love our hats! The Dyess Air Show with Miss Jenn. Mommy! Texas Rangers Game

This afternoon, after the Dallas Arboretum, mommy and daddy took us to see the Texas Rangers. Here we are, enjoying the game together. IT WAS SO MUCH FUN!! Grant and I got to yell as loud as we wanted! That NEVER happens! Here we are in front of the Texas Rangers Stadium. :)

Cheering on the Rangers with Daddy's help (sometimes we didn't know when to cheer or when to boo). Did I tell you about our diggs? Daddy's boss, "Boom", set it up so that daddy's office could have a private box at the Rangers game. We had our own food and an air conditioned box, with access to balcony seating on the third base line. WHAT A VIEW! This is the life! Peek-a-boo baby brother! He's kinda cute. Here I am in my new pretty pink Texas Rangers hat. And Grant got one too!!! We're special.

I had so much fun at the Arboretum that I fell asleep on the way to the Rangers game - even with my headphones on!!!

Dallas Arboretum & Botanical Gardens

This morning, mommy and daddy took us to the Dallas Arboretum & Botanical Gardens. They had so many interesting things to see!! There was a bamboo forest, real growing ginger, huge rosebushes taller than my head, giant orange fish, real tadpoles that mommy told me will turn into frogs someday, giant squirrels, birds, a lake with pretty white sailboats that remind me of Great Uncle Lev and Dabi, amphitheaters, fountains and ponds. They also had some really cool storybook houses along the path for Grant and me to play inside. We had so much fun exploring!!!

Peter Pan's Storybook House (aka Pirate Ship)

LOOK! We found Captain Hook's pirate ship!! Grant was dressed perfectly for the occasion. If you look closely, he's even saying "ARRRRR Matie!" in this picture. Checkin' it out together with my bro. Apparently, he's a natural at this...as one can tell by his choice of clothing...and his ability to steer the ship on his very first try. That being said, I was pretty successful myself. To be honest, I think he makes a better first mate. It's ok, little buddy, you can be the captain some other day...right now it's my turn.

Daddy, can I touch it? Here is Grant, in the Telemok Storybook house - apparently it is a Russian story. I've never heard of it, but I like mice... Froggy peek-a-boo, baby Grant! Here we are at church on Easter morning. The orchestra was practicing behind us... And we traveled far and wide for the perfect location for this photo.

Easter Morning: Tradition in the Making

This morning, when I woke up and went to wake up mommy and daddy, I was waylaid by the coffee table in the living room, where I found Easter Baskets! Filled with marshmallow Peeps! I ate two of my peeps before mommy and daddy caught me. MAN EASTER IS GREAT! Thanks Easter Bunny! The Easter Bunny also hid eggs all over the house - they were filled with wonderful items like pretzels, animal crackers, fruit snacks and yogurt bites. YUMMM!Eventually, I found so many eggs that Mommy had to give me a bigger basket.

Dyeing Easter Eggs

Baby Grant may need Daddy's help dyeing Easter eggs, but I'm a big girl and I can do it all by myself! (This picture was taken shortly before mommy decided that I did, in fact, need an extra hand.) Two seconds later, Grant got impatient with Daddy and dumped the entire blue cup in his lap. Good thing Mommy laid a table cloth down beneath our dyeing station, and that Daddy was wearing blue jeans. After the eggs dried, I was allowed to put stickers on them...here I am, concentrating hard on the task at hand. My finished product! I did them all by myself - except three (Mommy and Daddy each did one egg, and the 12th egg was too broken to add stickers). Do you like them? The one with buck-teeth is daddy's, of course.

Gardening with Mommy and Grant

Here I am, enjoying the finished product - the fruits of my labor. Mommy says it's best not to touch the flowers so that they can grow, but I asked her if I can touch them gently, and she said, "OK, but GENTLY, so they can still grow." Watering the new rosebush. Mommy says flowers get thirsty, so we need to give them something to drink. Filling the watering can. Mommy, I think the pink one looks best right here. Here I am, planting my first flower. Baby brother and I are tilling the soil (Miracle Grow potting soil, that is).Filling the planter with dirt. I'm really great with a shovel.
