Mommy couldn't wake me from my nap this afternoon - she unraveled my swaddling, opened the shades, turned on music, and flashed her camera in my face multiple times. I just couldn't wake up! Look at me sleep! I'm such a big girl - getting so good at sleeping.
Time to exercise! Head up...head down...head up...head down.

Here I am hamming it up with Vineeta at Red Hot & Blue after our trip to the Ft Worth Zoo. It sure was nice to socialize in a nice cool restaurant after being out in the Texas heat all day! What an exhausting trip! I bet I'll sleep well tonight.
Here, mommy is giving me a horsey ride on her knees. Riding my horsey makes me smile! Man, the Ft Worth Zoo has lots of interesting animals.
Momma said I fell asleep somewhere near the alligators. I didn't remember falling asleep, so I told her to "Prove it!" Looks like she's right...

Mommy and Daddy and I went to the Fort Worth Zoo with Vineeta today! I was a bit tired for this picture, but I was hanging in there 'cuz I knew I could nap on the way home!
Here, Daddy is showing me how to ride my imaginary motorcycle. Who needs expensive toys, when you've got an active imagination! We had so much fun! Daddy wins my first genuine laugh!
Daddy and Mommy bought me a new toy! It helps me to stand on my feet, learn how to walk (not that I'm anywhere near that yet), and it has tons of cool gadgets. Now that I know how to reach and grab, this toy is sure going to be lots of fun! Look, I am learning to play the piano.
This thing is designed to help me to walk around the table as I get older and more able.
Man, so much to do - so little time!!
Mommy gave me my soft, soft stuffed buffalo to play with on our car ride today. And can you believe it? I didn't cry the WHOLE TIME! I love my buffalo!
He makes me so happy.

When mommy and I went out to watch the sunrise today, we noticed the BIGGEST SPIDER EVER sitting on the screen outside my nursery window. His body alone was an inch long. Add in his legs, and he was probably about two inches long. We wonder what kind of spider he is! We also wonder why we don't keep any Raid for spiders in the house...
Mommy put me in my finest slacks yesterday, because we had a cold front come through. It was only 90 degrees!
Grammie and Grampy brought mommy a big, beautiful "Happy Birthday" balloon. I've never seen something so big and pretty and colorful in my life!! It was so much fun to play with Grammie and her balloon.
Here are a few pictures of our humming birds. They are the strangest humming birds ever - they like to stop and sit on our clothesline whenever they're not eating from the feeder. We have about six or seven humming birds that hang out in the mesquite tree behind our house and eat from our feeder throughout the day. They are very territorial - they like to chase each other around.
Every evening before my bath, mommy takes me out to swing in our backyard. I don't really like the sun, but I'm learning to like the swing.
Yesterday, Mommy and Daddy finished setting up my nursery. Last night I slept like a log in my crib all night! They even set up a library for me. Who is going to come visit me and read me some books??
Mommy and Daddy told me that Grammie and Grampie are going to be here in a few weeks. Maybe they will read me books! YAY!
Today mommy let me play in the Super Crazy Baby Einstein Playgym Yay! Of course, she loaded it up with tons of toys. I think she might have taught me what it feels like to be overstimulated.
Mommy even put rattles on my ankles and my wrist. Isn't she crazy?!? Please disregard the fact that I am flashing my underwear. Well, I guess, at least they're stylish.
Here I am watching a Baby Einstein video. Man, those videos are fun! I especially like the puppets with smiley faces. They make me laugh and wiggle.
Today Mommy and I played a fun game. She let me feel different fabrics to see what things feel like. She showed me some of her cords (not bad), a terrycloth rag (eh, a little scratchy), velcro (not very fun), silk (ooooh that was nice), and her silly stringy sarf. This scarf was lots of fun!!!
The best part of the game was at the very end when Mommy let me play with my two softest little bunnies.
We had dinner at Grammie and Grampie's house. Aunt Kristen, Uncle Mark and cousin Brooke also joined us. It was so much fun!!!
Last week I also got to snuggle with Grandma K. Here I am falling asleep in her arms...I was very tired from all of my traveling.
Here I am again with my cousin Brooke in our matching cherry jumpers. This time we're hanging out with Grammie!
